1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using HoldingCost (holdingcost.com), or by embedding our calculators on a third-party site, you agree to be bound by these terms of use. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.

2. Operator and contact

HoldingCost is operated by TECH ASSURANCE PTY LTD (ACN: 661 252 320), registered in Australia. For questions about these terms, contact us at hello@holdingcost.com.

3. Nature of the service

HoldingCost provides free online calculators and educational content for informational purposes only. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure access to the website.

4. Not financial advice

Nothing on HoldingCost constitutes financial product advice, legal advice, tax advice, or investment advice. Calculator results are mathematical estimates only. You must not rely on any information on this website as a substitute for professional financial advice. See our full disclaimer for the licensure scope and per-domain notes.

5. Accuracy of information

We take reasonable care to ensure the accuracy of our calculators and content (see our editorial policy). However, we make no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, currency, or fitness for purpose of any information on this website. Financial conditions, interest rates, tax rules, and regulations change frequently. Always verify information independently and with a qualified professional. Nothing in this clause limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other mandatory consumer-protection legislation that applies to you.

6. Intellectual property

All content on HoldingCost, including calculator logic, text, graphics, and code, is the property of TECH ASSURANCE PTY LTD or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content without prior written permission, except for the limited use of our embed feature described in §7.2.

7. Acceptable use

7.1 Use of the website

You agree not to use HoldingCost to:

  • violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • scrape, copy, or reproduce calculator logic or engine code;
  • attempt to reverse-engineer proprietary calculation engines;
  • transmit harmful, offensive, or disruptive content;
  • interfere with the security or integrity of the website;
  • use automated tools to access or index the website beyond normal search engine crawling.

7.2 Embedding our calculators

HoldingCost provides an embed surface at /embed/{pillar}/{calculator}/ that lets third-party sites host our calculators inside an iframe. By embedding our calculators on your site, you agree that:

  • the "Powered by HoldingCost" attribution rendered in the embed footer must remain visible and unmodified — you must not hide it with CSS, remove it from the iframe, or wrap the embed in a way that obscures it;
  • you must not embed our calculators on websites that host adult content, hate speech, harassment, or illegal content, nor on sites that misrepresent the calculators as your own work;
  • you must not modify the calculator's logic, defaults, or output before displaying them to your users;
  • we reserve the right to revoke iframe permissions for any individual host or pattern of hosts at any time, including by serving an empty page or by blocking via Content-Security-Policy headers.

Embed pages are non-indexable (noindex,nofollow) and excluded from our sitemap; the embed surface is not an SEO target.

8. Third-party links and affiliate relationships

HoldingCost does not currently maintain affiliate or referral relationships with financial product providers. Should we add such relationships in future, the relevant disclosures will appear next to the affiliate link itself, the consent banner will be re-prompted where applicable, and our how we make money page will be updated. Affiliate relationships, when active, never influence our calculator results, defaults, or rankings. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party website linked from this site.

9. No accounts at this time

We do not offer user accounts at this time. Calculator state is encoded in URL query parameters and stays in your browser. When account features become available, additional terms will apply and the consent banner will be re-prompted.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HoldingCost and its operators exclude all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or its content. This includes but is not limited to financial loss, loss of profits, loss of data, or any other economic loss. The website is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in this clause limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other mandatory consumer-protection legislation that applies to you.

11. Indemnity (embed-host operators)

If you embed our calculators on your website (per §7.2), you agree to indemnify HoldingCost against any claim by a third party arising directly from your breach of the embed terms (including misuse of the attribution requirement or framing on prohibited content sites). This indemnity is limited to direct losses, does not extend to consequential or indirect losses, and does not apply where the loss arises from HoldingCost's own negligence or breach. Nothing in this clause limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Jurisdiction and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of Australian courts for resolution of any disputes arising from these terms or your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other mandatory consumer protection legislation applicable in your jurisdiction.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of HoldingCost after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
